This year the students have donated their money to Free A Family®, an organization that helps people overcome poverty through community programs in agriculture, health, nutrition, literacy, and more. The end result for all participants is nutritious food, clean water, improved health, increased income. Not only does supporting Free A Family® help families break free from poverty and live a life of renewed hope in Christ, it does so in an amazingly efficient way.
Three year olds:
During the lesson, children in the Three year old program are read stories which help them learn that God loves them.Children are then encouraged to respond to the stories through follow-up play or craft activities.
Children are admitted into the three year old program on a quarterly basis in September, January, April and July.Children are invited to join the 3 year old program during the intake month preceding their third birthday (i.e. If your child’s birthday is in November he/she would enter in September).Readiness is at the discretion of the Three year old Sunday School Superintendent and is based on the child being toilet trained and socially ready.
The Three year old program at Ebenezer runs year round.Parents should bring their children to the classroom before the beginning of the Sunday morning worship service and pick their children up after the service.
Sunday school: Junior Kindergarten – Grade Four
At Ebenezer, we run Sunday school classes for children in grades JK – Grade Four during the 10am Sunday morning worship service running from September through June.On the first Sunday of each month, the children meet together as a large group at .These once-a-month gatherings give us an opportunity to share devotions with the children, sing songs, update the children on how their collection is progressing for the Children’s giving project and recognize all the children who have a birthday that month. We close our gatherings with prayer before the children are dismissed to their classes. On every other Sunday, the children join their parents in the sanctuary for the start of the worship service and the pastor dismisses the students to their Sunday school classes during the service.
Each week, the teachers aim to broaden the children’s understanding of the gifts and responsibilities God has given to them.Through “KNOW, GROW and SHOW” activities from our curriculum, the children are read stories from the Bible, then encouraged to grow in their understanding of the story through follow-up questions and praise activities. Finally, the children engage in a “show” activity relating to the day’s lesson such as a craft, drama, or maybe even a Creation Treasure hunt!
